I thought hay I will search the novel cause it is based on the book, looks like she will be playing a witch called Mab's. Here is what I found.
Fay Weldon's reputation is growing all the time, and in England her new novel, Puffball, is her most successful book to date. Readers of Fay Weldon know that you can always count on her for surprise, and in Puffball she is at her ironic and outrageous best as she tells us a tale of witchcraft and childbirth.
Liffey and Richard move from their chic London apartment to a quaint rose-covered cottage because Liffey insists. Their neighbors, Mabs and Tucker, are delighted when Richard petulantly abandons Liffey to pursue his career in London and they set out with energetic spite to teach their city friend a lesson. Whether Liffey becomes pregnant from that lesson or by Richard remains to be seen, but Mabs believes that the baby in Liffey should rightfully be in her. Enraged, Mabs begins casting spells over her unsuspecting and naïve victim. And all the wile Liffey's baby grows and grows until it, too, becomes a character in Ms. Weldon's unique novel.

I've read one of Fay Weldon's books. It was quite good. I didn't realise that she wrote Puffball. I'll have to try to find it. I have about a million and one books that I've bought but not read, so once I've finished them, I'll give Puffball a go.

As a rabid Merlin fan I couldn't not to notice the similarity in the name (Mabs/Mab) I guess hoping there will be similarity in the appearance as well is too much to hope for, right?

I hope she ain't as they decribed her lol big and slow. If they put Miranda in a fat suit I would be angry she is too pretty to have fake stuff on her face an body. :)but she sounds like Mab the rest hehe, she is a follower of the old ways.:DAnd it always says for the book Mabs and Tucker which is her husband. But yet in the film version it says Mabs Tucker so maybe she lives alone in the film:)or maybe not hehe:DBut anyway sounds funxxx

www.imdb.com/title/tt0484881/According to this she has 3 girls but no husband. And she wants a son and believes the other lead character has stolen it. I think Miranda has a big role:Dwoo And that Mab's mother molly casts spells on the other woman. We want Manda to be a witchy woman too hehe ;D
