Yeah, she's always groping him. In some of those videos I've seen people ask if they're a couple because of her groping.

That's because people don't know any better Hehe I'm just an old Sarah fan so I know about everything about her, I liked it best when she was with Andrew. About the song: It's AMAZING! I completely adore it and I have a million different versions of it. Sarah must be the greatest singern on earth! She is good at not just opera but other genres too

I know I going to be putting myself in the line of fire, but as an opera student, I have to say that none of them is singing opera, more of "classical alike pop music". I have my technical reasons to dislike these two singers and others, like Katherine Jenkins...

Yeah, people criticize her all the time. My interest in Sarah Brightman is not because I think she's the best singer around or anything like that. When I grew up listening to her and Michael Crawford sing the Phantom, their voices stuck in my head. She has a pleasant voice to me.

It's true that at least Sarah does not sing much opera in that, but I've heard her do it, and it is not like the screaming things I hear everywhere else. I normally hate opera, but just Sarah's voice makes it so much better. When she actually sings opera that is.

Hehe exactly! It doesn't sound like someone is killing her when she sings. And however as much as I have to say this, I feel that way about Emmy Rossum too, even though I think Sarah was better as Christine in PotO.

Ok, I just want to make a little note here before I start to write the actual comment: What I'm going to say is the result of many years of study and learning and if you like/love Sarah Brightman, fine, the last thing I want to say is "stop listening to her" or "she is dreadful". My comment is exclusively about her singing opera. I've heard her singing opera, opera mixed with pop, musical, etc and she never sounds like a true opera singer. I know many people, especially young people, are not opera fans and what usually arrives to them is not good operatic singer, so many times people say "I don't like opera, it is screaming" or "it is boring " and have never heard proper singing. Nowadays it's a difficult thing to find, even in the most reputably opera houses around the world. Opera is not usually something you love at first sign. Unless you have grown up accustomed to hear it or it takes time to listen and like it (and learn to separate the good from the bad). Emmy Rossum might have sung in the Metropolitan Opera Choir as child but from what I have heard in Poto, she is far from being singing opera. Phantom is a musical, a musical with some operatic inspirations is true, but is not opera. It takes so many years to learn how to sing opera. You need to have total dedication, to live for the art. It's not something you can learn in three days or say in one day "oh I love this so much" and expect to be singing like Renée Fleming in the other. When I hear Sarah Brightman, I hear a voice that is "trying to approach" opera. She doesn't have the proper technique to do such a demanding repertoire. You may think "but she has the voice"; yes, she might have, but being born with a pretty voice is not enough; if you want it to last, to be secure, to be at the high of such arias, you need to learn all the technique. I know that many singers say: "I was born like that". 95% of times is a lie, people just think that it makes them special or something like that. A true operatic voice is far from being screams. Unfortunately there are many people who just want to use shortcuts and don't wait the proper time to learn it well.

As I said, I understand she is not the greatest singer. I just like the sound of her voice, but I get a little tired of people discussing the quality her singing. We all know she is not Maria Callas.
I do agree that people can like her because she does not sound like typical "harsh operatic singer," as I actually feel that way myself. I personally don't really like opera that much. However, that doesn't mean that I have deluded myself into believing that she is a more technically skilled singer than those people. I just think she has a pleasant voice.

Yeah, I liked that song. I think it's from the Symphony album, with the song of the same title. I think I've only listened to a few songs from that album though. I especially liked Canto Della Terra with Andrea.
