An incredibly talented actress but who I dare say is almost more underappreciated than Miranda. I didn't become aware of her awesomeness until after I saw Mamma Mia! but now that I've seen her in as many things as I can get my hands on, I have to say that it's a crying shame how she always gets stuck in supporting roles.
Anyone else here share the CB love?

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
She is divine! I know Mama Mia isn't exactly Oscar worthy, but she definately deserves recognition.

I agree with all who think that Christine Baranski is a talented actress, and under-appreciated. I remember her playing supporting roles in the 1980' and 90's. But her name always escaped me until recently. I am glad that some Mirandatians know who Chrisitine Baranski is and appreciate her.

I saw her live last night in the gala concert benefit performance the Roundabout company put on of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music. She was fabulous, of course, and I actually met her afterwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I did get to talk to her, but it was mostly gushing on my part. Christine, however was extremely sweet and gracious. The exchange pretty much went like this: Me: Ms. Baranski, I love you so much! CB: *smiling* Aw, thank you. and CB: *while signing DVD* So you've seen Mamma Mia. Me: Yes, and I loved you in it. I love you in everything. Then my mom said something about how we had gone up there just to see her and Christine said something along the lines of "that's sweet" or "I appreciate that." I don't remember, really, because I was on too much of a high after talking to her myself.

Aw! I bet I would feel the same way.
I bet they don't know what to say when people tell them they love them (them and they being celebrities) because even if they kinda "know" they are good, it must be strange to have people say that all the time. I would feel like it was the first strange time everytime, you know?

I know exactly what you mean. I kind of wish I hadn't gushed so much and could have had a slightly more intelligent conversation with her, but it's kind of amazing I wasn't tongue-tied and incoherent, so, gushing is better than THAT. And the thing is there weren't even any barriers, only inside where the paparazzi were, so we were literally face-to-face. I couldn't have been any closer without being ontop of her. It was crazy. Here are some pics (paparazzi ones, not ones I took): images.broadwayworld.com/upload/39240/tn-500_baranskiwm8207353.jpg[/img]I think these were taken right before she came outside. So there are VERY happy memories associated with them.

For anyone's interested, Christine's going to be gueststarring on the CBS sitcom Big Bang Theory this coming Monday.
Oh, and is apparently going to be having an at least three episode stint on Ugly Betty coming up in March.
