Yes - of course - we all need to escape - and one excellent way of doing it is to come here and converse with you wonderful Miranda People. I was just saying, you know, what a terrible world we live in. You only have to look back to the Dark Ages to see that little changes - it always was tough, really. Look at Vortigern! Really nice bloke! Though I quite like him, played by the superb Rutger......I think Mab likes him, too! It's just that today we have the technology to do such terrible things to the world - to actually destroy all life. With all her power, Mab would never have comtemplated something so stupid or short- sighted...............Cara - I'm not sure, but pretty certain that nobody could call you shallow. If they did, I'd punch 'em one! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Again - how very male! As for Mab liking Vortigern - have any of you guys ever thought about what happened after the tent-scene was over? I mean, there was enought sexual tension in that scene to set the tv on fire! And back to the lying thing, I think that she was telling the truth but wanted to lie remember howshe told Nimue in the garden that she loved him but hated him as well! And the Mordred thing, well Mordred was her second Merlin, of course she was upset to lose him. and I think she was simly too upset to fight when she told this dumb-ass Merlin, and he said "Well so we both have nothing to lose!" Conclusion: she would not have fought him had he not provoked her! It's all Merlin's fault! (Please imagine me jumping up and down, pointing my finger at Sam Neill in a 'He did it! It was him!' manner!)

There really was a LOT of sexual tension in the tent scene! Hmmm.... never really thought about it that way... Merlin was such a @$#% but really it was about a very tired, frustrated and scared woman trying to save everything she ever knew and her people!
If she were in MA, I suppose they wouldn't really know where to take her character....

now that you saay it, we don't know at what time it's set, and unless mab comes back to kick the christians' asses, it would be kinda weird to get her back, I mean, what would they do with her, let her and Merlin have the 'big talk'? hmmm, interesting, must write about mab and merlin being locked up somewhere and having the big talk ...

Oh, Gods.... now u guys have set me down that road of thought.... I had to have a few glasses of wine first but i'm not as bad as Solitas by the sound of it lol! Hope ur not too hungover tomorrow! Hangovers are evil!! Well, when you really want to think of it... the guy that wrote Merlin obviously didn't think about over-analytical people like us! Because how the heck would Mab conceive a child with this random woman in the first place??? So really, Mab has no right to give Merlin the "babies" talk!
Secondly, Mab pretty much stole the movie from Merlin in the first place. Was Merlin on the DVD disc covery thing? Nope. It was Mab! And to have the others gods (Lake Lady) come back without Mab coming back really makes no sense whatsoever!!
Mab had sexual tension with Vortigern but I didn't really see it with other characters..... unless I'm not remembering correctly but i think that also had something to do with the fact that she was fascinated by this man who has no beliefs which, at the time was pretty much unheard of! Plus he was strong, powerful blah-blah-blah and wasn't grovelling at her feet!
I think Merlin will just have another great adventure, destroy some evil wizard dude, go to Lake Lady for help at some point, maybe Mab is in the otherworld in a huff lol... that's their only explanation unless the villain brings Mab back to give him powers or something! But that would be too cheesy! And Nimue will love and support him from the sidelines!
Incapability, you should really write about that! It would be interesting!

Another thought came to me the other day - you know, when one of you said that Merlin looked like he was sad and having second thoughts about making Mab vanish? It's a very good point, and I think I agree with it. But let's not forget that this is a guy who expresses concern over a snail getting run over - do you remember his says to Arthur, " Woa! He has the right of way!" So, presumably, he's bound to be ever-so-slightly concerned about the destruction of the most beautiful goddess who ever graced the planet. Don't get me wrong - I like snails too! It's just that it is, in my view, consistent with his character's traits - you know - Mr Nice Guy, as opposed to evil Mab! Aaaaaaaaaaagh! And Solitas, as a real pagan, you must find much of the movie very sketchy and inacurate in its' portrayal of your beliefs. I know that Mab is mentioned in Shakespeare and Jonson, but did pagan people ever worship a deity with that name? And as for faries and pixies - well! I suppose that they are un-Christian, and therefore almost by default, on the same " side " as paganism. One of my books describes paganism thus ".............a tradition of the ancient country, celebrating the Earth, Heaven, and the bountiful harvest of the soil, woman, and a joy in nature that has long since vanished from the Holy Consciousness......." What do you think? And what the flippin' heck does " lol " mean? XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

"lol"= laugh out loud! it's just a way a way of laughing online! I hadn't thought of it that way... but don't u think Merlin must've felt something for Mab... when he's going to meet her for the first time he explains that half of him felt this was the most natural thing in the world. Half of him is Mab and that half is the strongest. So her dying would bring about some sort of strong emotion, wouldn't it? And technically, if half of Merlin is Mab, as long as Merlin lives, it's impossible for her to vanish completely. I'm trying to find any mention of Mab in paganism and am failing. There was a Maeve, which on site explains could be linked to Mab... Shakespeare can't have come up with Mab randomly... Oh, and Solitas, which site was the top 5 cult women list on? I wanna know who else was on it!

Thanks for that, Shock - and as for Christina 1981, she was ( correctly ) praising Solitas - she spoke/wrote in the singular. I think she was being rather rude about the rest of us........presumably, because I do not share her exact views, I do not possess a spark of intelligence. Rather narrow-minded, and, er, not what I would call, er, very intelligent......or very polite!

true. as for the other gods not disappearing because they're stone, water, whatever, I read in those books for the movie (they give a much more positive picture of Mab) that she is wind.
can't wait to read what you've got to say!

Wind would kind of make sense... I mean when she yells at Ambrosia and blows the house down... but wouldn't earth or stone or something be more suitable as she's always carrying one around and has that cool cavern place? Either that or geology is... her hobby?

hmmm ... now that you say so ... once, the book said that "the lady was water, just like Mab was stone", but then Merlin has to learn the four kings (of whom two are queens actually) of the elements, and the lady is water (surprise! who would have thought that!), the mountain guy is earth, Mab is wind (or air) and the master of fire is some unknown guy, they all have power over one character-thingy as well, don't remember them all, but the fire-guy has power over the heart. will look them up.
